Academics

A commitment to academics serves as a core value at Bethesda Academy. Each student is carefully evaluated to determine academic areas that need special attention and additional assistance.

It is proven in most academic research that a teacher can make significant, positive differences in a student’s progress by having a small class size to work with. For students who struggle along with students who excel, students need one on one attention from their teacher to progress to higher levels. With a 12:1 student to teacher ratio, Bethesda Academy can create individualized plans for each student. We have replaced textbooks with computers. Each student uses a laptop to access research and activities as the highly qualified teachers guide them through their learning. Educational research tells us that most boys are kinetic learners- so hands on learning is best for them.

We are also able to track each student’s progress on the path to graduating and formulate a plan not just for middle and high school, but for life beyond Bethesda Academy. Through College and Career classes, seminars and individual meetings with students and their families at least 87% of our students are accepted to college.

Bethesda’s Common Core Curriculum prepares students to qualify for admission to a four-year college or university, technical school or military service. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and proudly participates in Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program.
