2016 Bethesda Academy Commencement

Tribble - Class of 2016 - Chapel

Saturday morning, faculty and staff joined the soon-to-be graduates in the Whitefield Chapel to gather for the Reflection Walk.  Led by a bagpiper, the group processed to different locations on campus.  At each location, a faculty member reflected on lessons learned and core values reinforced during their time at Bethesda. The walk ended with a procession into the Lady Huntingdon Amphitheater. It was the last time they walked the campus as “students.”

The Commencement Ceremony took place in the Amphitheater.  After an invocation by Chaplain Antwain Turner, our Valedictorian and Salutatorian gave their addresses, diplomas were conferred, Bibles were presented by the Bethesda Alumni Association, and then each graduate took the opportunity to go to the podium and say a few words to their family, friends, and faculty. It was their first act as “alumni.”

It was a very special day and the amphitheater was filled with people supporting the Class of 2016.  All 20 graduates have been accepted to college – 60 colleges, to be exact. We are incredibly proud of them and look forward to their continued success beyond the arch of Bethesda.
